Eindelijk is het zover: de nieuwe website van For Stories is live. Toen ik in 2018 begon met For Stories, besloot ik te gaan voor een eenvoudige website. Eentje waarmee ik snel op weg zou zijn. Snel op weg was ik zeker. Een paar maanden later wilde ik gaan bloggen over communicatie. Over mijn vak in zijn algemeenheid en over nieuwsberichten rondom communicatie. Helaas bood mijn simpele website daar niet de juiste mogelijkheden voor. Op dat moment waren er twee keuzes: niet gaan bloggen, of een nieuwe website, met wél de mogelijkheid om een communicatieblog te starten. Het resultaat toont het antwoord.

Blog over communicatie
Op mijn nieuwe website, zal ik dus gaan bloggen over communicatie. Daarbij wil ik jullie op de hoogte houden van nieuwsfeiten rondom het vak en daarnaar mijn kijk op communicatie delen. Zo kan er een blog verschijnen over een bericht uit de krant, waar ik vanuit het vakgebied een mening over heb. Maar ook kennisdeling: over storytelling, fotografie, of de inzet van video voor je bedrijf. Een breed blog over communicatie dus.

Achtergrond van mijn website
Voor wie nieuwsgierig is geworden naar de details van mijn website, iets meer info daarover. Zoals gezegd startte ik, toen ik met For Stories begon, met een simpele website. Een wysiwyg CMS*, waarmee ik in no-time mijn site live had staan. Nu ben ik overgestapt naar WordPress, bij uitstek hét CMS om een blog in te creëren.

Inhoudelijke website
Ik heb goed de tijd genomen om mijn site opnieuw uit te denken: wat willen mijn bezoekers weten? Hoe willen zij navigeren? Kortom: wat is er nodig om een goede, inhoudelijke website neer te zetten. Daar zeg ik bewust inhoudelijk. Vaak gaat de focus namelijk veel teveel uit naar het plaatje, oftwel: hoe ziet het eruit? Hippe bewegende elementen, prachtige foto’s; als je de site ziet, ben je meteen onder de indruk. Wanneer je echter probeert om informatie te vinden, kom je bedrogen uit. Natuurlijk wil ik ook dat mijn site er goed uit ziet. Maar het mag nooit ten koste gaan van de inhoud.

Het eerste blog
Het eerste blog is een feit. Houd mijn website in de gaten voor meer blogs over communicatie. Natuurlijk zal ik deze ook delen via mijn Linkedin– en Facebookpagina.
